The BlackPoint Slick Duty Holster- Light Compatible (SDH-EL OR SDH-HL) is the next evolution in professional duty gear. Designed and built in America by BlackPoint Tactical, the SDH-EL OR SDH-HL is the first holster light compatible holster in the BlackPoint Duty Series featuring 2 levels of retention. This product was designed and engineered specifically for law enforcement, military, and prepared citizens who demand additional weapon retention but do not want to sacrifice a smooth, fast, and consistent draw stroke.

Based off the Master Grip concept, the end user can comfortably depress the retention lever to deactivate the retention mechanisms without the hand articulation and movement required to manipulate other duty holsters on the market today. This ensures that once the master grip is acquired, it will not have to be broken through the draw and presentation of the firearm.  The consistent grip translates to a fast, consistent draw stroke leading to more accurate rounds on target in less time when drawing from the holster.

The SDH-EL OR SDH-HL features 2 levels of Retention:

• First Level- Adjustable Friction Retention
  This allows the user to tailor the friction fit of the holster to their preference.
• Second Level- Ejection Port Lock (SDH-EL) OR Auto Rotating Hood (SDE-HL)
  • The SDH-EL features an Ejection Port lock as the second level of retention. This lock automatically engages the pistol when holstered. The SDH-E meets or exceeds all competition in static load testing of the EPL.
  • The SDH-HL model does not feature an ejection port lock and instead offers an auto rotating hood as a secondary level of retention. This provides an added layer of retention and security over the firearm that automatically rotates out of the way when released.

Combined together, the Slick Duty Holster offers users who do not require maximum retention but still want a high performing and durable retention holster. With the Slick Duty Series, users perform the exact same mechanic to release the holster regardless of whether the hold or EPL lock is equipped. This minimizes training and performance issues as users will not have to recall different mechanics depending on which retention mechanism they have equipped on their holster.

Further, the ejection port lock design features the BlackPoint double-clutch safety feature. During a struggle for an officer's weapon, weapon retention is paramount. The locking mechanisms on the EDH ensure that the firearm can only be drawn through a deliberate motion, rather than by accident during a struggle.
With the BlackPoint design, if upward pressure is applied to the weapon before the retention lever is fully depressed then the weapon will not release. This is designed to prevent inadvertent contact with the retention lever releasing the pistol during a struggle for the weapon. Once the master grip is obtained, the officer applies downward pressure on the firearm and retention lever simultaneously before pulling upward to release the firearm.

The SDH-EL OR SDH-HL features another new option, the BlackPoint SHIM system. Our patent pending SHIM system delivers adaptability never seen before in a duty holster. By changing which SHIM is installed the SDH-EL OR SDH-HL can be configured to fit different weapon lights. Instead of buying multiple holsters for different weapon lights, the SHIM system allows one holster to adjust across multiple light configurations. The Light Compatible holsters in the BlackPoint Duty Series also feature an user removable Barrel Plug. When equipped, the Barrel Plug allows the holster to properly function without a weapon light attached. While we recommend always keeping the weapon light on your pistol for use with your holster, this ensures continued functionality even if the light must be removed.

The SDH-EL OR SDH-HL comes equipped standard with the customer’s choice of a mid-ride or drop-offset mount. It is compatible with mounting solutions from a variety of companies including Safariland, BladeTech, Blackhawk, and True North Concepts.
