Strong Hand, Other Strong Hand. This concept is one first installed in me by my @sayockali training years ago. You'll hear people willingly admit they have a "weak" hand. Hell, even saying "support" hand is better. You may have a dominant hand you write with but I'll be willing to bet your non-writing hand is strong too. In Filipino martial arts, it is common to switch leads, strike or tap with either hand, and use either hand to address a problem. You'll be hard pressed to hear me ever say my left hand is "weak". I know what I can do with it from years of bilateral training. It might not be my right, but going with my left is not wrong. This post isn't so much about what is carried but how you should think. Even if your tools change, your mindset shouldn't. Stick, blade, firearm, or fist, be capable. Pay attention to that word "weak" with reference to your body and don't let someone convince you it is.
